So she doesn't have a thread and she should because she is amazing and I am completely addicted to her right now. She's an amazing guitarist, she plays slide and it's out of this world. She also has one of the most unique voices I've heard, it's sooooo smooth and conveys emotion w/ very little effort. HMD and I were talking about her last night and we both agreed that there is no one like her- she is completely different than anyone else. So check her out! I'm seeing her in exactly one week and I'm stoked! :)

Talia's music is like liquid gold.

Ain't nobody like her. When I try to describe her to people I always fail miserably...but if Gillian Welch met Buddy Guy and they ran into a young Ani DiFranco (the Not So Soft, self-titled album era) and all had a beer together in Bonnie Raitt's backyard, it might sound something like Talia. Then again, it might not.

YAY for new NZ fans!!! I actually didn't really get into NZ til lately even though I've known of her music for a while. I'm really stingy about opening up to new music but for some reason lately she has just exploded onto my music scene. Her song "Only One" is amazing. I saw her perform it live a few times and after the last time I saw her I couldn't get it out of my head and thus my obsession began. She's especially great to see live so check her out if you can! I love to watch her play, she's amazing! And she's so cute and sweet! Anyway I'm going to stop rambling!

Listening to Natalia right now and I'm so so so excited to see her tomorrow. I'm going up way early b/c the bar is open before the show so maybe I can hang out and talk to her. I would love talk to her about the NYC show and various other things. I'm sure after the show every fuckin' local will be waiting to talk to her. My friend and her sister are opening for her too which is way cool. They cover a lot of Patty Griffin, so I can sing along.

HMD: Do u want ur CD signed b/c I was going to do it to surprise u but then I was like what if she would be offended I would feel really bad- like maybe u wanted to be there to witness her signing it or something. You never know about these kinds of things.

So I got to see NZ last Thursday and she was really amazing. I like her more and more every time I see her. She is so sweet. She played at my friend Weezie's bar which was really cool.

Thanks for trying to get the new CD for me, Ash - too bad she didn't have it! Oh well, we'll get our greedy little paws on it sooner or later. If you don't have it by the end of March, I'll try to pick you up a copy when I see her with her sister Ari in Savannah. :) (I've requested off work...she's playing the savannah music festival and I want to go catch her show really badly.)

That's a beautiful setlist she played for you guys at Weezie's. And is she not the nicest person this side of the great wall of china?? I could stand and chat with her forever. She's lovely.

HMD: I told you u'd go to that show! You said it was too far away! I knew it! Haha! I hope she comes back up here soon, I really love seeing her live. She's great! I didn't realize how much I loved a lot of her songs. I didn't get to talk to her much b/c she was talking to this drunk guy and she spelled my name wrong after I told her the correct way to spell it! Grrrr.... However, she is still awesome!
