TAAS will be opening for several of the IG shows next month on the East Coast. For those of you who haven't listened to their latest cd Hopeful Monsters, or are unfamiliar with Paul Melancon's solo stuff, YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS THEM. make sure to get to the venue in time for their opening set. they totally kick ass, and are great live!

I had the privilege of Paul calling me on my birthday last year and singing to me although I was totally drunk - he's great. He may be playing some shows in the areas a little west of Atlanta if we're (I'm) lucky!

Um - yeah. Just got back from the Neighborhood Theatre show, and the Arts and Sciences RULE. I knew they were Melancon's band but I really had no clue how good they'd be...they were fucking amazing. The woman who plays electric guitar (is her name Leigh? Leigha? something like that?) is outstanding. And, um, the bassist, Erin? She not only plays a great bass rhythm, she's got a super voice; she was doing most of the harmony and it was excellent. I met her afterward at the merch table. She's so nice - and way gorgeous too. Little dimples and all. :D And of course Paul is as good as ever he was. What a great opener! Rockin' and energetic and harmonic and just...awesome. I am hooked, in the worst way.

Anyone know what's going on with Paul and the rest of 'em? Their website hasn't been updated since June. I was wondering if they were going to be touring/recording any more or if Hopeful Monsters was kind of a "one and you're done" deal...I hope not because it's so good, it'd be a shame if they didn't put out some more stuff or book some more dates.
Just curious if anyone's heard anything.
