It's Alright: We have to stop meeting like this! I dig Melissa Ferrick, too. Valentine Heartache is one hell of an anthem CD for me. I also like Massive Blur.

I can't believe I forgot to start a MF thread. Yes I too love Melissa Ferrick. Skinnier, Faster would have to be my favorite album. I like her slow songs the most. :D I get off on depressing myself.

It's Alright: A sidenote here...The song Moses on Valentine Heartache was written by Patty Griffin. Patty's version is on Living With Ghosts.
P.S. Listening to VH right now...had to be done! 8)

BQ-Good Morning, My Dear. xo Too bad MF wasn't there a little later in November. How perfect would that be?? :?
KIM-Do you have FREEDOM? That is my favorite MF CD. If I were to ever compile a top 10 list of my favorite CDs ever...that CD would be there. I LOVE "North Carolina," "The Stranger," "This Is Love," and who can forget the classic "Drive"-sigh? I have the Patty (thank you BQ :D ) and the MF versions of "Moses." They both do a great job with it. Patty is like "Miss, I write the songs, record them and then other people record them, too, and make them famous." It's cool how many artists seem to be influenced by her.
ASHLEE-I listened to BPC last night. I adore that version of "Everything I Need." I played it over and over again when I was driving. Very motivating!

IA: The Stranger is my favorite MF song(closely followed by I Like It That Way). However, I prefer the live version on Skinnier, Faster. I almost always prefer a live version to studio, but that's just me. Which is why Catie should do a live album.
Peace,
Ash

ASHLEE-I had the very same thought, last night, about Catie doing a live CD. Someday, I imagine she will. To hold you over...her CD FROM YEARS TO HOURS (remastered) has a couple of live songs on it, including a cover of The Waterboys' "Fisherman's Blues" (it rocks!). You can buy it through BULLETPROOF artists via www.catiecurtis.com .

listen hard is, in my opinion, her best album.
but nothing beats seeing her live. i wasn't really that into her until i saw her show last year. that girl gets down on the guitar.
