Any news from the Olivia Cruise???

I know of at least two couples that went but I'm sure they don't want to post here in fear of getting criticized for going on the cruise. Its a shame really because I would love to hear more about it.

I know someone who went, but she's not really an IG fan, so she doesn't post here. She said it was lots of fun (and she wasn't a "cruise person") and there was lots to do. She said it was also kind of cool because even though IG was only on the boat for a couple days, the rest of the performers were on for the duration and she was tickled by bumping into the likes of Catie Curtis, etc., on occasion. Apparently, some of it was filmed for a LOGO special, so keep your eyes out for it.

I dont think anyone has ever "criticized" another for actually going on the cruise or actually going to certain events - I think it was more of voicing disatisfaction with IG for going against their voiced stances on certain things.

Put another way: while I might strongly dislike a political party and its views on particular topics, I'm certainly not going to criticize someone else's right to support that party.

What you do on your time with your dime is your own business, and if you go on a cruise - Olivia or otherwise - I truly hope you have a great time.

Thanks for the updates. I was just curious to see if the IG were hob nobbing it up with the cruise crowd...since that's what the Olivia folks would have you believe was the case if you paid their outragous fees to hit their cruise(s)

Why would this cruise stir up the "ire" of this fan board?

Buster: Well, mainly, the reason that the Olivia Cruise hits a sore spot with some IG fans is for the reasons Golden alluded to, which seem to go against the grain of some of the issues IG advocate for. For example:


Cruise ships are destructive to the environment; Olivia cruises are exclusionary on grounds of gender; Olivia cruises are exclusionary based on financial status; blah, blah, blah.

Personally, I just can't see myself being cooped up on a ship for a week with a bunch of women, but then again, if someone were to drop a free cruise on my lap, I'd give it a try.

in 2002 i went on the love boat, to bermuda. the captain was there,{from the tv show} i believe that was the last time it cruised here they sold it to europe. that ship was so tiny and old it sucked
